In 1993, Our LORD gave a vision to Pastor Elliott Lawson to establish a church. This church was to be a non-denominational church bringing together people who have a love for and belief in JESUS CHRIST for the purpose of glorifying the Lord and leading others to the LORD.After sixty (60) days of praying by Pastor Lawson, GOD’s vision was placed in action on October 10, 1993, and by GOD’s direction named by Pastor Lawson, “POWER OF FAITH CHURCH.”  We the members know that the church was organized by GOD and so appropriately named by GOD because only through the power of faith in the LORD have we come this far.The church began with Bible Study in the Pastor’s home with nine faithful and dedicated members.  Pastor Elliott Lawson, Sister Bessie Lawson, Deacon Addison Little, Sister Barbara Nealy, Brother Travis Nealy, Sister Elizabeth Henry, Sister Mary Riggins, Sister Denise Riggins, and the late Deacon Johnny Riggins.  Thus the church was organized and GOD’s work began.Our first church service was held on the second Sunday in October at the Holiday Inn 5865 Arlington Expressway in the Duval Room.  On April 5, 1998, our service moved to the Holiday Inn in Baymeadows.  Seven months later by GOD’s grace, the diligent efforts of Pastor Lawson, and the support of the members of this church, God enabled us to purchase the building and the adjoining property at 3910 Atlantic Blvd. giving us a sanctuary of our own.  Renovations on the building were completed by the Pastor and members of the church.GOD has truly blessed us in these years.  The original nine members have multiplied several times over and God is not finished yet.   Several Ministers and Deacons have been licensed or ordained by our church and some have moved on to continue the work of the Lord.   GOD has enabled us to pay off the mortgage on our building and the adjoining property.We humbly thank GOD for all he has done for us. We are truly blessed spiritually, physically, and financially. 

We prayerfully submit ourselves to GOD and give him all the praise and all the honor.  We have no doubt that the LORD has greater things yet to be accomplished by the POWER OF FAITH CHURCH and we pray through GOD’s grace we will continue to do his will and move forward with the vision.

Our motto continues to be: LITTLE FAITH!  LITTLE POWER!  LOTS OF FAITH!  LOTS OF POWER!  NO FAITH!  NO POWER!
