Be Who You Are

Sermon Notes

Here we’re going to learn how the Apostle Paul was encouraging the Galatians to grow in the Lord until they come to a point, where they can have the personal joy of doing something well alone without bragging and comparing themselves with others. In other words, don’t go around comparing other people to yourself, just be who you are. Listen: Just because others don’t meet your standards, that doesn’t mean they are not who they are, you just be who you are. That’s what God expects of us.

Galatians 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Everyone needs or wants a certain amount of approval from others. But those who go out of their way to secure honor or to win popularity with lots of people become conceited and show that they are not following the Holy Spirit’s lead. Listen: Those who look to God for approval won’t need to envy others because God is the head.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

There is a saying that says the trouble with most people is that every time they think

they think only of themselves.

.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Love your neighbor as yourself. John 13:13-15 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Galatians 6:3-5 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone,

and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden.

Your strength lies in your weakness, weakness is a lack of strength, power, or determination.

Galatians 6:6-7 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Conclusion: Remember your attitude determines your attitude. Whatever you plant will grow
