Being In Fellowship

Fellowship means having a family feeling and partnership between Christians. It also means to have a close relationship and sharing. You experience fellowship when you share life events, commitments, trust, and understanding with other Christians. Fellowship is one of the keys to spiritual growth.

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Christians should be Christ like. Paul is also saying whether he is with them or absent; that they should stand fast in one common spirit. Meaning rather we are in church or not in church we should be the same wherever we are, in our homes, on our jobs, or just out and about we should be the same. Acting the same, talking in the same, being the same rather than just coming into a building and playing church. But we have to realize that the church is in US we carry the church wherever we go.

Philippians 1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

This verse has a twofold meaning. First, it is destruction to those who are against God.

Secondly, it is a sign of salvation to those who believe. Listen Christians don't destroy Christians. Christians build Christians so when we are in fellowship one with another we are uplifting one another.

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Peter said, Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. So we should be glorifying God one with another. David said in Psalm 119:71, It is good for me that I am afflicted that I might learn your statutes. So how do we say it, iron sharpens iron

Philippians 1:30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Let us look at John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Philippians 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. God calls people to serve the Lord and others, not themselves. Remember the sermon “Having Lordship”; you are no greater than your service is to others.

Conclusion: Fellowship is having a common goal. Remember, it is all about God, yes, all about Him, not you or I; it is about GOD. And in our fellowshipping, we help the church to grow stronger.
