How To Know God's Will

The best way to know God’s will is to be familiar with the bible because everything you need to know concerning the will of God is in the bible. God lives in his word (John1:1). If you get to know the word of God and understand it, you can know the will of God.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Here Paul is urging us not to be conformed to this world. Do not look back and act like the world. In other words, don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mode. When we come to the kingdom we should have abandoned the patterns and lifestyles of the world.

The world here means the society or system that man has built in order to make himself happy with God or with himself. It is a kingdom that is an enemy to God. God and the prince of this world are at odds. Satan is the prince of this world.

(1) Satan seeks to attract and hold people through the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

(2) Christ died to deliver us from this world. The world is crucified to us, and we are crucified to the world. We are in this world, but we are not of this world.

(3) Believers are not of the world any more than Christ is of the world. However, you are sent into the world to testify that their works are evil and that salvation is available to all who put their trust and faith in Jesus.

(4) It would be disloyalty to the lord for believers to love the world. Anyone who loves the world is an enemy of God. You can’t love two.

(5) We should not only be separated from the world; we should be transformed by the renewing of our mind, which means that we should think the way God thinks, as revealed in the bible. In other words, we should have a relationship with God. Jesus said in John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Conclusion: If we follow these steps, then we can experience the direct guidance of God in our lives. His will becomes good, acceptable, and perfect. Everything you receive from God is based on your relationship with him. We are in a relationship with God, we know him and are known by him.
